Utah Career College

The Pharmacy Technology degree at UCC trains students to become pharmacy technicians who help pharmacists provide drugs and other health care products to patients, elaborate prescriptions for patients, work with insurance companies and verify prescription information under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, help prepare prescribed medication for patients, as well as assist the pharmacist with everyday duties. . Students will have the fundamental pharmacy skills and knowledge to gain entry-level work in:

• Hospitals


• Retail Pharmacy


• Mail-Order Pharmacy

The students will practice lecture, hands-on training, and research assignments, students will learn how to interpret, process, and compound extemporaneous and intravenous admixtures, and learn the effective use of available software programs with proficiency in receiving, interpreting, inputting, and filling prescriptions. Pharmacy Technicians value honesty, integrity and work with a respect for the patient's confidentiality.
