University of Washington (School of Pharmacy)




The 51st school of pharmacy in the United States was formed in 1894 in a muddy Washington frontier town called Seattle. The University of Washington College of Pharmacy was created through the efforts of the Washington State Pharmaceutical Association (WSPA). The University of Washington School of Pharmacy is a nationally acknowledged as an innovative leader in pharmacy education, scholarship, and research. Our students are among the best and the brightest and continue to be an influential force long after graduation.



The School takes great pride in maintaining a high quality and progressive curriculum to meet the expanding needs of our students and has been abundantly prized with graduates that go on to be leaders in their fields.

The mission of pharmacy school is:

  • To prepare graduates for entry into a life-long career in the profession of pharmacy as providers of pharmaceutical care.

  • To support research and graduate education and to foster the interest of students who seek to engage in research in both its professional and graduate programs.

  • To promote life-long learning of pharmacists by facilitating opportunities for post-graduate and continuing education.
