Currently, the graduates from the College of Pharmacy are leaders in their communities, in their practice sites, in academia and in the pharmaceutical industry.
The College of Pharmacy of the University of New Mexico has the mission to develop innovative leaders in pharmaceutical care and research who enhance the quality of life for the people of New Mexico. To meet this mission, They offer the professional doctoral program in pharmacy (Pharm.D.) as well as MS and PhD programs in the pharmaceutical sciences. At the postdoctoral level, They offer a number of postgraduate residencies in a wide range of subspecialties of pharmacy practice. They also offer numerous postdoctoral fellowships in the pharmaceutical sciences.
This College has a number of distinctive features and programs. The College established the first Nuclear Pharmacy training program (graduate, residency and certificate) in the United States, They enroll the most ethnically diverse pharmacy student body in the U.S., and their faculty direct a National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences Research Center in Toxicology, the New Mexico Poison and Drug Information Center, the New Mexico Center for Isotopes in Medicine, and the Veterans Affairs Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy.
