Pharmacists contribute to patient care in a variety of health care settings, giving up-and-coming pharmacists a diversity of fulfilling career options. You may favor working with patients in a retail setting, such as a privately-owned, independent pharmacy or perhaps a larger, more well-known chain pharmacy. Your career as a pharmacist may lead you to work in a hospital setting, a long-term care facility, or in the pharmaceutical industry as a researcher or sales representative.

Circumstances such as our growing elderly population have created a huge demand for more professional pharmacists. In fact, a shortfall of as many as 157,000 pharmacists is predicted by the year 2020. Most school of pharmacy graduates receive multiple job offers at the time of graduation, and are enjoying greater potential for career advancement than ever before.
