School of Pharmacy and Health Professions
Creighton's innovative Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum centers around reviewing and communicating drug information, helping resolve medication usage problems, patient counseling, developing pharmacy care plans, medication therapy assessment and delivery, understanding how drugs work, patient outcomes evaluation and documentation. Strong basic knowledge anchored in empathic caring for the whole person is stressed. In addition to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, students may concurrently pursue a M.S. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a program of the graduate college. As another option, students may be enrolled in the Master of Business Administration program, thus expanding career opportunities for Creighton graduates.

The Creighton University School of Pharmacy began in September 1905. In 1976, the school initiated the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. Creighton University's pharmacy program is celebrating its 100th year anniversary in 2005.
The $54 million Hixson-Lied Science Building and integrated science complex renovation were completed in 2003. This underscores Creighton's dedication to educating tomorrow's scientists and health care professionals. Pharmacy students take the majority of their courses within this complex.
